The Bridges at Toko-Ri is a top notch war drama starring William Holden and Grace Kelly in the female lead. Grace won the Oscar in 1954 for The Country Girl, but 3 other of her 1954 pictures including this one helped her beat out major competition Judy Garland for A STAR IS BORN! Director Mark Robeson, a very realistic director puts the face of war right in our faces with this particular incident that can raise the excitement of real war lovers. You will see Mickey Rooney no longer as a juvenile which is in itself something novel about the film. I would score the film higher but war films are not my thing!
