Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) makes a bride for his creature and all hell breaks loose. Arguably better than its predecessor, both emotionally and stylistically, Whale's moody sequel to the classic 'Frankenstein' of 1931 best illustrates the director's macabre sense of humour and filmmaking talent. The great Elsa Lanchester plays a dual role both as the 'bride' and as author Mary Shelley. James Whale personally designed the bride's spiffy hair-do.
