A darn good film from Franklin J. Schaffner which began life on Broadway from a play by Gore Vidal. It is worth seeing in light of the 2016 Presidential Campaign between Clinton and Trump. The political struggles of such a race are relentlessly detailed to the letter, but it never stoops to the ego-maniacal methods of the hateful Trump. Lee Tracy gives an Oscar Nominated performance in a very strong list of veteran and younger actors of 1964.
