    Terms of Endearment

The film is a beautiful love/hate relationship type film between mother and daughter. The performances are astounding with Shirley MacClaine and Debra Winger at the very top of their game, both competing with each other for the Oscar, which went to Shirley. This James Brooks's feature is a roller coaster of emotion that will have you crying no matter how hard you try not to. Jack Nickolson won Best Supporting Actor competing against his own cast member, John Lithgow... who's always the bridesmaid, but never the bride. So one big BRAVO for Lithgow. He was tremendous in TERMS, as he is in everything he does.
