Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

I gave this movie a 6 because that's how I feel about it. It was good: entertaining, funny at times, scary once or twice but it was nothing but blockbuster fun. The ending was very "special" (let's leave it at that).. I mean, they could've put "to be continued" while they were at it. I guess I'll have to go see the sequel to it and all the other sequels following. And as Mr. Schwarzenegger said, it will probably be called "T4: Terminator in a Wheelchair"! The special effects were nice but the story was lacking a bit of depth. It was very clear that James Cameron wasn't the director this time around. For example, in T2, there were lots of shades of blue (dark blue, metallic blue) while in T3, it was nothing but shades of yellow, red, orange, etc. The vast majority of the scenes were shot in bright sunlight. I found that setting to be terrible since 1. It didn't fit with the main idea of war against the machines; and 2. It made the movie seem jolly like we were on the set of a romantic comedy. It completely killed the potential mood. Also, the beautiful theme song that is so loved only comes on remixed during the end credits. I also found it to be short: 109 minutes compared to T2's 137 minutes. I suppose it was because of the terrible story line. They didn't do a very good job of integrating the new cast because they spent a lot of time explaining where the older cast went to the point that you mumble to yourself: "alright, I get it! Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong didn't return for an encore!" I guess I was disappointed a little because I expected more. One movie that doesn't disappoint: Matrix Reloaded!
