I rarely rate a movie a 10, unless I feel it is oscar worthy. This movie isn't oscar worthy but it should be held in high regards nonetheless. Perhaps it is because I feel a certain fondness for the beginnings of modern day hip hop, or I am empathetic for the way the west coast rap game all got started. Either way, the production, the story, the acting, the movie, the directing were all pitch perfect. I could not have asked for anything more coherent in this movie. Period. Brilliant may be hard word to use, but this movie's execution certainly is nothing less than that. It's not often that you see so many things blended together so well. Marcos Taylor playing Suge Knight was downright terrifying to me. Eazy-E became endearing, dre, cube (played by his son), snoop, all felt close to their real-life form, or at least what we see of them. A true gem brought to life. If only all hollywood movies could be executed this well. 2h 30min well spent. Note: It goes without saying that this movie is not meant for underage children or to anyone that can be easily offended!
