I was quite prepared not to like it. Silent movie, black and white, retelling of Snow White in early 20th century Spain. Though when I read Roger Ebert loved it at TIFF last year I thought I should give it a chance. Was glad I did. The B&W images are special, the camera work amazing, the fable elements of the story are very interesting. Well told, well acted, very engaging and beautiful. I think though it will lose a lot on the small screen, it is a film I think that belongs in movie theatres.
