I had no idea how enormous the backlash was to the band's 2003 between-song banter at a concert in England. The filmakers (Kopple & Peck) do a fabulous job of capturing the charming combination of grace and feistiness with which "The Chicks" meet the controversy head-on. No, you don't have to be a Dixie Chicks fan to see this film. I certainly wasn't. Beware though, you may very well be one before you leave the theatre..

An update to my review... within 24 hours of seeing the film, I purchased the new Dixie Chicks album. I just couldn't get the movie/tunes out of my head.
It happens to all used car lot salesmen and truck drivers... just kidding... I think they're great too!
