If by any chance that sentance made you hold up a little smile, by all means go see this movie and have yourself a ball! Shaun (BBC Favorite, Simon Pegg... for movie lovers he played in 24 Hour Party People) just lost his girlfriend and to top it off his co-workers have absolutely no respect for him. Finally, to have the perfect ending to the "perfect day" people are turning into zombies!!! The plot is silly, yes it's quite easy to notice that with the preview but that british charm makes this movie just brillant. I can compare it to Scary Movie with a plot. Let me explain in a way Shaun of the Dead is mocking other zombies movies but at the same time one can see it as an hommage. You have to have a good ear and a very good eye to notice everything especially with just one viewing. After reading about rave reviews from famous directors like George Romero and Peter Jackson I knew this movie couldn't be that bad and both great directors were right Shaun of the Dead is just pure fun. Tired of comedies using the same formula to make you laugh? Then I won't say it enough, Shaun of the Dead might actually bring your comedy standards higher after it's viewing, I know it did mine. If you adore the movie the way I did... I might have good news... I was impressed with the chemistry between Shaun and Ed's characters (Simon Pegg & Nick Frost) and research their past experience and fell upon that both play in a hit tv show called Spaced in the UK... it just started playing in the US this week on a special channel (Trio) so maybe we will be lucky enough to have the pleasure into watching them again. Now all we have left is to hope for a DVD box set (as of now region 2 is only available... we are region 1 for the non-techs) or even better a canadian channel getting the rights for the show. Impatiently waiting the DVD release...
