With my 3rd viewing of Safe Haven... Call me crazy, but I just loved this film. Strange thing is, I've never read a Nicholas Sparks Novel nor do I ever intend to. It's just not my sort of reading. Obviously something about the movie clicked with me which went way beyond the eventual love story. I actually cared for the widower as we got started and for Julianne Hough who I thought was just fine in the role. There is something disturbing along the way, but that's for you to discover. I wasn't disappointed because I knew exactly what type of film I was seeing and secondly I have never been disappointed by a LASSE HALLSTROM directed film, from his very first one MY LIFE AS A DOG which was nominated for BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM way back when I was a kid.
