I had high hopes for this. There is no doubt this is the single most important issue for the world at the moment and not nearly enough is being done. But while a beautiful piece of cinematography it is also over the top propaganda with no real solutions offered and unfortunately distorted facts are also on display. It says several times the solutions are simple but governments won't act. At the same time these simple solutions are never detailed. The film maker himself shows two honest moments, one is he is afraid to get arrested at a coal plant protest "because he needs to come to the US a lot" and the second is when he admits that he burned a huge amount of carbon making his film and destroying the planet he loves at the same time but offers no excuses or what he should have done differently. My biggest takeaway from this is that people like the film maker illustrate the problem with the environmental movements. Willing to fly around the planet and sing songs in protest but unwilling to look at real hard solutions that may actually be more complex than he likes to believe. The only classroom this should be allowed in is a class on critical thinking.
