I must say this was a good spin-off to the Paranormal Activity franchise. Mind you quite a different movie unlike the other ones, but was surprised to see how well it was done. However, if you’re not an enthusiast of found-footage films which seem to have grown a large fanbase in the last several years, you’d do well enough to not see this flick at all. Personally, I was impressed to see there was more action this time than in the prequels. With a demonic entity on the loose, some white-knuckled scenes, and good scares, this film entertains. Aside from that, what I thought was cool was a whole different setting, new engaging characters and laced with a lot more comedy. This movie does a nice job of tying up loose ends, answers a few questions from previous installments, but leaves you hanging... there are still things yet to find out. The ending’s last 20 minutes will truly unnerve you with a surprise twist that will not be explained further until PA 5 comes out this October. I also like how this story connects to the rest of the series. Overall, fans will undoubtedly enjoy “The Marked Ones”... but don’t go see it alone.
