Stupidity, glorified. To be honest, I loved The Despicable Me series. The humor was on point and the interplay between the super villain and the minions was hilarious. Not only that, but the action was secondary to the relationship the villain had with the children which ultimately gave rise to some heartwarming moments. Either way, this movie throws all of those values and redeeming qualities away to simply focus on the stupidity displayed by the minions. The fact that most of the language is barely recognizable (whereas in The Despicable series is could be inferred or deducted from the dialogue) really leaves this movie with a lot of thumbs down. Seriously though, for the demographic that this movie is supposedly tailored to, it's an epic fail. They had a great recipe with the original series which not only pleased the young children but also provided something for adults to enjoy too. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
