I'm glad I saw this on DVD. I'm glad I was able to steam press a basket of laundry at the same time so I didn't have tooo many regrets about the two hour time frame. Don't get me wrong the acting is great. Nicole Kidman's performance is superb, Jennifer Jason Leigh definitely holds her own against her and I think it's the best role I've seen Jack Black in a long time. But the story was not entertaining or engaging in any way. I don't need every film I see to be a feel good movie but at some point you need to understand and care about the characters - and I didn't give a tuppence for anyone's issue. It was billed as a savagely bright comedy, but I totally missed the bulk of the humour. And what a waste of Ciaran Hinds!!
