Well... Where to start, let's get the nasty bit over now, I felt cheated after I saw this movie. I have never played the games so I probably did not enjoy it as I would if I knew the mythos behind the woman that is Lara Croft. What scares me is that this movie had 5, count them 5, screen writers. I can't believe that 5 people were only able to come up with what was presented to me. The secondary characters were cardboard cut outs and I found the whole father sub plot a rather annoying plot device. The plot had a few holes in it that I found rather glaringly. The action was nothing I had never seen before, but I must applaud Jolie for doing her own stunts in most of the movie. I love the soundtrack which I bought the day it came out. Before anyone says anything I know this is not the type of movie that would have an amazing plot but at the end I found myself not caring if Lara survived or not and that's not a good sign. I had to tell my best friend (who is an addict of the games) to see it on a matinee, and not pay full night prices. I am probably being over critical and I am sure my hopes for this film were very high so that might explain this. On a good note, Angelina worked well with what she was given and when the sequal comes out, hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and improve on it. I think, in time, this could be a winning franchise with many, many possibilities. [...]
