La Petite Aurore l'enfant martyre

Adapted from an infamous true story about a ten-year-old Quebec girl's suffering at the hands of her stepmother -- a subject which had already been adapted into a 1921 play, which was performed more than 6,000 times over the next three decades -- La petite Aurore was a huge commercial success that helped launch the nascent Quebec film industry in the 1950s.
