So disappointing. Does not even come close to measuring up to his other films. Mediocre at best. Not smart and not funny. The catharsis is anemic. The jokes and the premise are unoriginal. The hero is unsympathetic. It appears that the rich famous and acclaimed director is taking a revenge on the everyman by mocking them in a rather unintelligent and unamusing way. An unpleasant waste of time, in my opinion.

It appears to me that you must have been in a different movie - or a different person than me has seen the same. It is not revenge against the rich and famous, but a desperate look at the realities of life for some of us, possibly most of us. Only some of us are to self absorbed to see that. Our hero has seen it. The sense of the movie is to see it too. Not a comedy, really, while there is some tragic fun in it.
