King Kong

Finally got around to using my free passes on this one. Good thing I waited as the cinema was empty. What can I say about a remake of a remake. The editor should have been shot. The 1st hour of this 3 hour epic is a waste of time. This movie should start when they are on their way to Skull Island. Many characters are basically the equivalent of Star Trek’s Away Team. You know who will die. Poor character development. The subplots are ridiculous as is the relationship between the ship’s 1st mate and the quasy animal raised Gilligan character. Although the scenery is at times spectacular, it sometimes looks like left over Lord Of The Rings props and CGI footage. There are even some scenes where it is clearly animated and looks unfinished. As I watched them take down KONG, I asked myself how they would transport him on their puny boat. Obviously Peter Jackson asked himself the same question as we never see this. Again, shoot the Editor. The person I went to see this movie with fell asleep near the end of the movie. If you are into CGI, then see it on the big screen, If not, wait for rental..
