If you're Canadian, you'll enjoy seeing TO, where they shot a Large percentage of the city scenes. I don't agree that the script and filmography are targeted at deconstructing the superhero genre. Rather, superheros are an idolized fantasy for the mumblecore crowd. The acting wasn't bad, but for the genre, the overall effect (insights, surprises, visuals) was two-dimensional, combined with a very weird core of rudimentary family values. I found the playful tone of violence sickening and shocking, as well as cheaply done. The internet has certainly restructured consciousness.

Great review. Dude I'm into all the smash'm up leave em for dead type of flicks. But this junk was an MTV movie with a big budget. Though the fact we drink toxic Coca~Cola and inhale synthetic flavoured big macs, whoppers, fried GMO chicken and talk into a cancer causing phone to plan our charity walk for cancer says it all. I can totally see this movie being absorbed over and over again by some lame brain who has no time for politics, but will find out everything about this movie. These people who have been waiting for tha film to help them separate from whats wrong with society, have the chance to identify themselves with their rating. Rate it high = You are the problem. Rate it low = You are the solution. We need to rise against films that use kids to kill. I'm no geek off the street, I'm a pro snow border, I have two daughters and this movie is disturbing. 1/10.
You might see what you think of the Canadian production Defendor which uses some of the same notions but, I imagine in a different way. I'd be interested in your impression.
