I just got back from seeing this little gem of a movie! I'm giving it a strong 9/10 as it most definitely is an excellent movie, you really must see it. There's just something about a small budget, innocent film with an incredible cast like this one that just reminds me what movies really should be about: the story! Ellen Page delivers a stellar performance in the title role of Juno. This should propel her to the top of the A list for up and coming actresses. Canada continues to produce excellent artists! Bravo to Diablo Cody for a wonderful script. Not only is the dialogue snappy and witty, but memorable moments are spread out through the entire movie. It's a real feel-good experience, and that magic stems from the writer and flows through the actors and actresses who all deliver amazing performances. This is my favorite ensemble cast in a very long time. Kudos especially to J. K. Simmons as Juno's dad, Allison Janney as Juno's Stepmom, Michael Cera as her nerdy-looking track-star boyfriend, and Olivia Thirlby as Juno's best frient. Of course, Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner also play their roles incredibly well as the would-be adoptive parents. This movie has it all: funny moments, thoughtful passages, excellent acting, top-notch writing, and a very talented director that brought it all together. 9/10 without hesitation. We need more movies like this one, and less big budget let downs. This is what happens when the story drives the project.
