I, Robot

Click here to show this review. I, Robot is the perfect movie for the summertime... Remember when we used to go to the movies just to get a piece of the air conditioning. Now a days customers actually want to be entertained and I, Robot does a good job at it. It is the normal blockbuster movie of the summertime you'd expect. Important to note I did not read Asimov's creation so therefore I cannot unfortunately compare Asimov's work and the work of a certain Will Smith actually it was written by Jeff Vintar (Final Fantasy: Spirits Within) & Akiva Goldsman (Batman Forever & A Beautiful Mind) So to lay down the pieces we have the writer of Batman 3 & 4 writing for Asimov one of the best books of the 20th century. Does that s-p-e-l-l disaster? Surprisingly no. Will Smith leads the way on the acting side with a short resume cast. Notables are Bruce Greenwood, who portrayed JFK in 13 days, and Chi Mcbride who was in the gang of Nicolas Cage in Gone In Sixty Seconds. The overall acting was average. Will Smith keeps his charm flowing through the whole movie which is an important part of the fun factor. Bridget Moynahan (the opposite sex lead, because you know there has to be one) on the other hand was sometimes good and sometimes bad. She was the question mark coming in and she'll past the test for now. The story itself is done in a good way there a certain plot holes here and there, where you scratch your head on why he didn't do certain things but overall it is a decent effort. The graphics as usual are to die for. I know a lot of people coming in thought the robots sort of looked plain and boring but half way through the movie they sure get better. I, Robot is right up there with Spider-Man 2 & Shrek 2 to battle for the crown of the summer blockbuster. Unfortunately the story does not say if Asimov would approve, only time can tell.
