Not at all what I expected. I thought the previews for "Hide and Seek" looked pretty good... that was until I decided to go and see it for myself, and was disapointed. It was hardly what I'd call a horror movie, there was more suspense to it than anything. Oh, sure I jumped a few times, but it did not have a profound effect on me like "The Grudge" or "Boogeyman" which really scared me. Also I found the first part of this movie started out pretty slow, and that most of the action and tension played out in the second half. As far as the acting went... I've seen better acting in movies like this... it was just not convincing enough to me. I was expecting for Robert De Niro to make a star performance in "Hide and Seek", but I'm afraid this time he didn't quite make the cut. Of course this would be an okay movie to rent, but not to pay $8:00 to see.
