Like another reviewer said, when there is a huge discrepancy in the ratings of a movie, it is probably going to be excellent if you are willing to actually think about the contents. This one is no different. It is not slow, but carefully paced, with extremely good acting from everyone. Eastwood can really get the best out of his people. As others have said, it is uplifting, and for a movie about death and sordid details of lives, that is strange. So the message in the movie has nothing really to do with death or the hereafter, and that is where the thought comes in. The director's crafting of this movie makes 2 hrs fly by. Definitely a beautiful movie for the soulful out there, but if you want answers about the hereafter, you will get them in due time.
