Hancock

This movie cannot get more than a 7/10 on my scale. It is a good movie, BUT I saw the twist coming clear as day. They kept saying not to spoil it for people who had not seen it by not revealing the big twist... well my 14 year old son also saw it coming. It was kind of hard to miss! And to me, that's either bad writing or bad directing. This movie was more of a drama than an action comedy. So beware: don't let the trailer throw you... it is not a funny ha ha movie with action. That being said, when it does get serious, it actually gets pretty good, and a few scenes are actually quite gripping. Kudos to Jason Bateman for his usual solid sidekick supporting role. Will Smith was... well, Will Smith! But he did play the "I don't care" role very well. And it was a relief to hear him use some slightly profane language! Charlize Theron... well her role most probably could have been played by any charismatic leading lady, but she did play it very well. I will leave it at that! So, all in all, this movie is good, it is worth seeing, as long as you don't mind guessing the supposed big twist way before the reveal AND you don't mind the movie turning into a pretty good drama after the first 30-40 minutes. 7/10, I can give it no more!
