I went to see Fury without knowing much about the movie. The draw for me was its stars, Shia & Brad together. Sadly, the movie reveals itself in the first few minutes, a WW2 classic of heroes standing up for battle and cleverly outwitting the opposition til the very end. The Good : The performances of the entire team was pretty extraordinary. It seems as everyone showed up to give it their very best and on that level the movie shines bright. I was certainly not disappointed by the actors. The Bad : This is a pretty subjective point of view of course, but I felt that the movie didn't bring any novelty to a genre thats been exploited extensively for half a decade! That to me was the big disappointment. As a movie, it was too predictable for me to see where it all was going. There was no mystery, no novelty in the storytelling, nothing that hadn't been done before. Sadly, the movie disappointed me on that end. I realize that I am of the minority for which this is true and probably watch too many movies (many more than most) so please feel free to disagree with me on this one. Definitely a well made movie with incredible acting, but sadly, a little too overdone a genre for my taste.
