    From Paris with Love

Not just your run of the mill spy/ terrorist action movie. There is actually a good story here, but one with quite a twist and never a dull moment. John Travolta cracks more than a few skulls in this flick as he steals the spotlight. He plays the part of a good, invincible, though bad ass agent with perfection. His performance as Wax reminded me somewhat of his character in Pulp Fiction but with greater intensity. I also liked his quick witted one-liners... they were sly and comical. Aside from that, the movie's plot is smart and keeps you on a fast ride. There is good pacing, great direction throughout, with plenty of surprises ahead. Not to mention it's full-blown action in just about every scene and you are automatically lost in the thick of it all. On another note there is a lot of unspeakable violence in this film... lots of endless shooting, killing, and fighting, but it plays out well with the story anyway. You may also find the language pretty rough, but personally I enjoyed this movie. The combination of a few good stunt scenes and solid acting make this show a must-see. If you're a fan of action flicks, then definitely check out "From Paris With Love"... you'll be glad that you did.

You rate movies far too high. You basically give a 9 or 10 to anything. This makes your reviews basically useless. Raise your standards or read what the scores mean. You can enjoy a movie and give it a six or seven.. but to give everything such high scores is darn right nutty.

Hey, I'm entitled to rate movies anyway I like. Besides, I know how to rate a good movie when I see one. I don't appreciate your biased opinion. Give me a break!!

No you give the rest of a break. Your opinion is fine and is yours. But the rating system you use is not in line with the descriptors in any way. To say a movie is "good" or "very good" does not merit a score of 9 or 10... That should be reserved for outstanding films that perhaps have an appeal to all age groups or it has and incredible storyline. You throw nines and tens around to just about any movie while your written content reflects a mediocre flick. You are saying one thing with your word description and then your scoring is saying another. I am just saying that your scores inflate the true ratings of movies with your big scores. I would add in closing that if you look at your scores and compare them to the overall average you are always way too high. From Paris with Love is a 7... you give it a nine or ten. Just look at the other movies that you rate and it is the same throughout. So my point of view is not biased. I am merely stating a fact about your scoring pattern. By any chance, are you a French figure skating judge?

Where do these people get off criticizing your opinion & scoring? I guess they have other issues to settle in their own lives and use this site to vent and go on and on and on. Your scoring is just fine. I for one don't appreciate their badgering.

It isn't badgering. It is simply pointing out a huge discrepancy between what the person is saying about the movie and the score. I am not disputing what the person is saying as it is their opinion and I respect it. But you can't give a critical review or refer to is as OK... and then score it a nine or ten. While his descriptions say one thing, and I am not arguing with that aspect.. his scores are out of whack to his own review... I don't have issues... I am merely expressing a viewpoint.

Thanks very much for your understanding joliejojo2. I'm glad that someone thinks the same way as I do. I'm not exactly sure what this person's problem is with my scoring, but I'm just going to completely ignore them, and if they don't like how I rate movies, then they don't have to look at my reviews anymore. I don't think there's a wrong or right way to rate a movie, it's one's personal opinion that counts and really nobody else's business. I guess sometimes you just can't please everybody. You just have to learn to not let it get to you.
