    Anthony Perkins received an Oscar Nomination for his splendid work as the sensitive, headstrong son of Quakers Gary Cooper and Dorothy McGuire who are trying to maintain their religious beliefs in pre-civil war Indiana. This is an absorbing adaptation of Jessamyn West's novel expertly directed by William Wyler. Great film Oscar Nominated as Best Film of 1956.
