Dreamgirls

Ok, I am not crazy about musicals but I went to see because come Oscar night, I know its title will come up. I preferred the second half of the movie to the first, maybe it just took me an hour to be acclimated to its style. It's almost an all black cast. Knowles and Battle are excellent in their role but I could not make out what Devine was saying most of the time. It’s a song followed by an argument, followed by another song. It is like that throughout, a bit of acting and lots of singing. Overall a good movie, well worth seeing, but do not forget, it's a musical.
