    David and Bathsheba

    Reviewed by

Henry King directed this very solemn production of David and Bathsheba way back in 1951. Susan Hayward and Gregory Peck were both new at playing biblical heroes, if you will, and seem rather clumsy at it. The story is pretty spot on, but the film is not inspirational. It all looks very much like an acting exercise.
