    Confessions of a Porn Addict

"Confessions of a Porn Addict" plays to its star Spencer Rice's strengths and overall I thought it was more effective than it wasn’t. Shot in the style of a documentary, Spencer Ricer (from “Kenny vs. Spenny”) stars as a porn addict named Mark Tobias who is attempting to convince his judge and his ex-wife that he has taken a hold of his addiction.

The film stays firmly in the realm of reality so this isn't the type of comedy where you'll get wild comedy hijinks or people making puns and jokes. It also isn’t the type of story where a nobody can just walk into a pornography convention and turn into a big star. The comedy is mostly based around the concept that these guys are addicted to porn and so messed up that anything could set them off, even a billboard with a photo of an ordinary woman posing suggestively on it. I thought that was pretty funny, with just a hint of sadness too. The characters feel realistic and the performances are fine, which once again shows that lead Spencer Rice (Who co-wrote the film) is definitely playing a part he was well suited for. Although there aren't a lot of big laughs it's entertaining throughout and there might even be a shred of reality that makes the film deeper than just an odd mockumentary. If you want to see something different or if you're a fan of the "Kenny vs. Spenny" star it's worth a watch. (On Dvd, February 3, 2013)
