If you are old enough to recall the original version being played in school classrooms, you will appreciate the cheese factor in this one - in homage to the 1981 film (the owl even makes a brief appearance!) Otherwise, the acting is stilted, the dialogue is awkward, the special effects are mediocre and if you see it in 3D, it's not really that 3D (apparently it was filmed first, then edited for 3D viewing as opposed to a 3D film from the start) I liked it alright but kind of resented paying $25 for the two of us to see it in the theatre. Better to wait and rent it on a night when you're in the mood for a silly movie.
