I need to agree with all those that rate this movie a 6. As much as the acting is good, the movie is quite heavy and frustrating. She says the child isn't hers and for half of the movie everyone is telling her that the child is! I have trouble watching movies that are frustrating, where you just feel like screaming at the people in the movie! So... I don't really suggest it, but it isn't horrible either...

Isn't that exactly the point of the movie? It seemed to me to be about the frustration of being caught in a system where fairness and common sense has been deserted in the face of extreme ineptitude and absolute stupidity? I was totally involved in this story where she (Collins) was caught in a web of complete folly which was extremely harmful to her and her son. (Mind you, I can't imagine leaving a 9-year old alone all day and I can't imagine not knowing your own child - but it's a true story!) It was a different time than we live in today when people REALLY had less rights and the police and the mental health industry had way too much power and didn't seem to have to uphold their decisions with fact! I found it to be an absolutely riveting movie and was totally unaware of the time. I would give the movie a 9.

You have TOTALLY missed the point of the movie. This is based on a true story. I think you'd better see it again to appreciate it's historical significance and Christine Collins' plight.

I didn't TOTALLY miss the point of the movie. I understand completely that it is based on a true story and that it is a historical movie depicting the corrupted police department and the life of a young woman whos son goes missing in the 20s. But IN MY OPINION, I didn't enjoy the frustration of this movie. I didn't walk out of it telling myself how amazing it was. Yes what happened was shocking, but that doesn't mean that the movie itself is good.

Maybe a good idea for you to leave non-fiction movies alone. YOU felt frustrated? Could you imagine what Mrs. Collins felt? (and emotionally torn) And then be told you are "Mentally Unstable"? And then thrown into a mental institution? Just curious... So what exactly made the movie "not good"? This is under Clint Eastwood's direction... But hey, to each his own.

Maybe a good idea if you leave people who don't share the same opinion as you alone? This has nothing to do with feeling for the real Christine Collins. This is a movie nevertheless... a movie that I didn't enjoy for my own reasons. A true story or not. Clint Eastwood or not. Good for you that you think its amazing... I am not trying to convince you otherwise! Unlike you...
