Click here to show this review. This movie really warmed my heart and left a lasting impression. I could find few faults with it. Even the music score got me into the mood. The characters were so true to life that I could almost feel that I was transported back to 1973 when I myself graduated from high school. These three young men were inseparable as buddies and had a whale of a time snubbing authority. It was absolutely hilarious the trouble they got into with the local police and how witty they could be especially with older generations. But deep down they were quite insecure and had trouble defining who they really were. I enjoyed the scenes where children, parents and grandparents clashed with each other because the family closeness had degenerated into a lack of respect. Eventually tensions were smoothed over. You could also sense the beginnings of the women's liberation movement as the lady folk stood up to their bossy men. You learn here in this film that having lots of money does not always make you happy. In some ways it can be a straight jacket preventing you from finding your inner calling. I especially liked the ending where Freddie our hero left his secure career as an insurance salesman behind and eloped with his new girlfriend to embark on a grand adventure to parts unknown. A real crowd-pleaser.
