Sorry to all my Lebanese friends, but this film didn't do much for me. It's about a traditional society trying to fit in a modern one, especially the place of women therein. The acting is ok but no more, and entertainment wise it isn't worth much. It had it's moments, a few laughs but that is all. I'm sure Lebanon can do better; it reminded me of how Bollywood movies are, namely well liked by mostly Indians only, is it the case here?

Actually I am afraid that I think you are quite wrong in what you say. I LOVED this film and I am a French, catholic woman. I also love many Bollywood movies so there you go...
I agree with the individual who posted the last reply. I live in Canada, my background is German and I adored the film. It moved like the languages it was told in, French and Arabic, delicate, powerful, playful, lyrical, gentle, sensual... I could go on. I also love Bollywood movies. I think it is these touching stories of people's heartaches and dreams that transcend borders.
I completely disagree... it isn't mostly Indians that like Lebanese movies.
I think he's trying to say that only Indians like Indian movies (false!!), and is wondering if only Lebanese people like this Lebanese movie (equally false) Logic 101...
