I can't say this particular film is anything truly worth while, but I will say that Bette Davis is my heroine or anti-heroine by choice. In this film noir with Joseph Cotton she utters, upon entry into a room, her immortal line: "What a dump!" which was used in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf! The film was a box office disaster and was the last picture Bette made under her contract at Warner Brothers after 18 long years. As bad as the film is, I consider this mess a total classic seeing Miss Davis as a Mexican spitfire known as Rosa Moline going totally berserk as only Bette knew how to do. That long black hair they put on Rosa Moline was just too much for words. Well with all the camp in the movie, who could resist being entertained! The film is so bad that it becomes a wonderful pass time.
