Beside the special effects and all, I actually liked the storyline. The message behind all this. This is a story about the Natives and the White people. How the 'civilized' people come and destroy their beautiful natural land. Look at the environment we are living in right now: pollution, smog... even smoking is polluting the air and your own lungs. Why would you contribute to polluting the air? I think we should start by throwing away cigarettes that are full of chemicals. Go back to the roots, the nature, stop polluting and destroying the nature, that is the true message behind this storyline.

There is a true message, but it is far from a realistic portrayal of 'civilized' people destroying natural land. In Avatar, the natives actually manage to fight off the corporation wanting to exploit the metal on Pandora. Sadly, the natives and the natural environment are no match for powerful individuals determined to carry on with their agendas.
Maybe that's why the movie's ending is more beautiful than our reality. We can always dream. There was a psychology statistics that if you don't even dream about something, it will never happen. Therefore, how about we start by dreaming of this beautiful world where there will be no war, no greed, but peace. I think that's a start.
The funny thing is that tobacco came from the "natives" in North America, and was brought back to Europe where it then enslaved the "whites". Some might call that retribution.
The problem is that someone took advantage of the situation and started putting chemicals to get people addicted to make money. That is greed and it's a sin.
