I guess if you want to watch a man with no characterization struggle with the ocean in a boring way for a couple hours, this is for you. Personally, I can't see why the movie is getting all the positive reviews. Could be sympathy for Redford or people just trying to praise something to make themselves seem more cultured than they really are. If you want to watch an entertaining movie with the same idea, check out The Old Man and the Sea, the Life of Pi or even Open Water. On the plus side, you can watch this movie with plenty of background noise as there's basically no dialogue. And because I can't help myself, what kind of dummy goes sailing and doesn't wear a life jacket? I guess one who wants to look photogenic.
