To me this film was considered to be quite slow and draggy but there had been certain scenes worth watching. After the death of her husband (Beatrice Dalle) had seemed to be unable to cope with her everyday life and fears to be harmful for her young son. From scene after scene as she goes along, she had come back to life. The overall atmosphere was dark with some touches of bright colors. I had found the dialogue poor. Beatrice Dalle, once a sex symbol had been disappointed having it on the morning 37.2 degrees. The two wonderful scenes were worth seeing though they happen to be both infused by the talent of the Romain, during who happened to steal the show each time. The first one as the Merry Christmas scene when Mathieu (Romain Duris) had showed up at Cecile Cassards new home and had offered her to make three wishes, 2nd was when he had sang the song Lola at the picnic party. The cinematography was absolutely quite fascinating and Romain Duris was so amazing. Beatrice Dalle, a woman who had proceeded forward blindly, as she had essays to remove a great distance that had between her and her heart which had become in back of her mine an unsafe place. Shad incarnated and had given a wonderful performance which was worthy of compensation. The director, Christophe Honoré had demonstrated this film a masterful command of visual story telling in remembering that in film pictures happen to have a more important weight then words in advancing a narrative storyline. The film was considered to me a conventional narrative at heart for it follows a linear journey of a woman who had struggled to refined herself and it happen to be a wonderful story, mixing with pain and loss with laughter and love. I would liken in the near future to see more films of him. European cinema is often characterized by craftmanship, care for detail, whether in the acting or the composition of each shot. This film happens to b e exceptional in its portrait of grief, communication with the more desperate and isolated feelings with each of us.
