Ce film m'a appris quelque chose, dans la vie nous faisons des choix et il faut vivre avec. Le hic c'est la fin, je n'ai absolument rien compris.
Une belle mise en abime! Avez-vous compris la fin? ;)
J'ai bien aimé le film jusqu’à la fin qui à mon avis a tout gâché le travail! On avait une très bonne histoire avec un bon déroulement et on s'était attaché au acteur mais Denis Quaid a tout fait foirer à la fin! Dommage on était proche d'un excellent film.

Ce film nous apprend une chose : il faut être responsable de ses décisions et les assumer jusqu'au bout quitte à tout perdre : que ce soit l’amour que porte J. Irons pour sa femme ou son estime de soi pour B Cooper. La multi temporalité apporte une poésie entre fiction et réalité. Très bon film bien écrit et interprété.
J'ai aimé ce film, mais j'enlève un petit point pour la fin qui nous laisse avec un peu de questionnement.
J'ai vraiment bien aimé ce film, [c'était] quand on finit un film pis qu'on se dit a ouin!? J'adore.
Ce jeu de "mots" est impressionnant. Il nous entraîne dans différents étages de la conscience humaine et avant même qu'on s'en rende compte, une fin brillante vient nous ébranler. Jeremy Irons est impressionnant, tout comme Bradley Cooper. Clin d'oeil sympathique à Hemingway et aux écrivains de ce monde. Pas pour les amateurs de films d'action. Plutôt pour les personnes qui aiment les films intelligents.

Film intelligent qui ne se donne pas d'emblée, mais demande à être décodé... Trois niveaux de lecture, trois temporalités, s'enchâssant l'un dans l'autre et s'imprégnant de la même thématique... Au-delà du jeu des apparences, où se situe la vérité? Vaut-il mieux réussir (quitte à mentir) ou carrément échouer (quitte à perdre les siens)? Scénario intéressant au regard de questions de morale et d'éthique. Bon jeu des acteurs dans l'ensemble.
C'est un film qui est très bien joué.
J'ai adoré ce film. Au début j'étais sceptique, mais finalement c'est un très bon film. L'histoire est bonne, un peu prévisible de mon coté, mais excellente! Je ne regrette pas d'y être allé.

Rien vraiment à dire, peut être juste que les femmes vont se rincer l'oeil et les hommes pas mal aussi, car ce sont en plus de très beaux acteurs, actrices, voila une petite remarque.
Bonne histoire. Bon scénario. Des comédiens crédibles, mais pas excellents. Le film est trop long et il y a trop d'histoires parallèles, on s'y perd. Musique trop présente qui n'apporte rien à l'histoire. Histoire un peu trop complexe. À aller voir seulement si il n'y a vraiment rien d'autre au cinéma.
Bravo pour ce film qui est tout en nuance et qui ne prend pas le public pour une bande d'adolescents attardés pour une fois. Pas d'effets spéciaux mais une intelligence et une intégrité dans le scénario et dans le jeux des acteurs. Le film n'aurait peut-être mérité qu'un 8 dans les années '70 mais dans le contexte vide de contenu du cinéma américain actuel, je lui décerne un 9. Quelle fin intriguante ceci dit entre le personnage de Dennnis Quaid et la jeune femme. Faut-il y voir un lien caché entre les deux?
J'ai vraiment adoré ce film, très bien fait. C'est vraiment un film à écouter bien attentivement car si vous vous laissez distraire un peu, vous pouvez perdre le sens du film. En tout cas, moi je le recommande fortement.
Démontre la force des mots et le besoin d'écrire. Il montre également la difficulté de devenir populaire avec son écriture. Très bons acteurs. Il ne faut pas quitter avant la fin!

Parfois, je suis un homme alors les femmes nous aussi ça nous touche... vous savez parfois un film faut allez-voir car parfois ça nous touche ou ça nous touche pas, aujourd'hui j'étais comblé.. j'y pense encore!!! Adios un amateur de film surtout sur un Grand écran...
Film inintéressant, qui n'arrive pas à nous faire vivre d'émotions. Jérémie Iron est très bon, mais à part ça, les deux acteurs principaux sont bien ordinaires, trop "Hollywood", et Dennis Quaid n'a pas un grand rôle. Très déçu, car je m'attendais à plus après la lecture des autres critiques qui semblaient positives. Chacun ses goûts!
J'en ai vu beaucoup des films dans ma vie et de toutes sortes... Bien que les actrices et acteurs jouaient très bien leurs rôles... Ce film tirait tellement en longueur avec son histoire, il n'arrivait pas à attirer mon attention. Résultat... je suis sortie 30 minutes avant la fin. C'est la première fois de ma vie que je sors avant la fin d'un film!!!
Bradley Cooper perce l'écran et joue un rôle convaincant dans son interprétation. Zoe Zaldana est crédible et sa beauté ne fait que renforcer son son interprétation (féministe s'abstenir) Tant qu'à Jeremie Irons il offre une performance remarquable digne de récompense même s'il n'occupe pas tout tout le film. Tant qu'à Denis Quaid l'acteur le plus réputé et mis en évidence il me semble pas convaincu de son interprétation. L'histoire reprend un style qui a déjà été exploité mais le genre et la morale qui en ressort me parait particulière et originale.
Un de meilleurs films drames que j'ai vraiment bien aimé, surtout l'histoire, le jeu des acteurs et la surprise à la fin. Mais avant tout, j'ai tellement aimé la relation amoureuse de la réalisateur avec sa femme.
Pas d'effets spéciaux à grand déploiement, pas de cascades, pas de courses de voitures, mais c'est un excellent film à voir. J'ai particulièrement aimé la transition entre les époques. L'intrigue du voyage à travers les époques est bien soutenue. Les acteurs donnent une très bonne performance. Et surtout, ce qu'il manque aujourd'hui dans plusieurs films, une bonne histoire qui se tient du début à la fin... J'ai personnellement passé une belle après-midi.
Il y a peut-être quelque chose que je n'ai pas saisi dans ce film, pourtant les autres personnes qui m'accompagnaient ont adoré ce film, mais moi, je l'ai trouvé d'un ennui mortel. Je trouve un peu mêlant les films avec des flashback, on est toujours en train de se demander si ça se passe dans le présent ou dans le passé, qu'on en oublie l'histoire. L'acteur principal avait beau être beau et bon, le film était long et pénible.

Le personnage du vieil homme est excellent. Mais le film nous laisse sur notre faim quant à une possible conclusion de l'intrigue. Quant au beau petit couple qui en arrache financièrement qui vit dans un loft à NYC et qui va en voyage de noces à Paris, je n'y ai pas cru deux secondes. Trop Hollywood branché tous les deux. Mince, beau, belle coupe de cheveux, barbe de deux jours parfaite pour lui. Un peu de réalisme ne ferait pas de tort. Et la fille qui drague Dennis Quade? Elle sort d'où? Et lui comment a-t-il su l'histoire? Fiction et réalité se mélange, bravo, mais on s'en va où?
J'ai bien aimé malgré ma réticence à aller voir ce film. Au début, je ne savais pas à quoi m'attendre mais au fil du film, je me suis surpris à vouloir découvrir ce qui allait arriver au personnage principal ainsi qu'au personnage de Jeremy Irons.
Il est troublant de voir évoluer la situation - difficulté à percer même quand on a du talent -. Se demander comment on aurait réagi nous, face à une opportunité d'améliorer notre sort de façon pas éthique. Intéressant aussi de voir comme il devient insoutenable de maintenir un mensonge longtemps, que ça évolue forcément vers des problèmes de conscience ou d'être démasqué ou de perdre l'estime des autres. Très bien joué, crédible!
Un cinéphile peut-il vraiment embarquer dans cette histoire gnagnan où la vraisemblance n'est pas au rendez-vous, et ce, tant au niveau de l'histoire que des décors, des personnages, des maquillages? Une nullité.

Très bon film qui pourrait être didactique en littérature, pour expliquer les nuances des notions d'auteur, de narrateur, de fiction, de biographie, d'auto-biographie, etc., de même qu'être une incitation à réfléchir sur ce qu'est un plagist, quand l'original est anonyme.

Ce film raconte une belle histoire, une histoire qui pourrait être vraie, des petites histoires qui peuvent arriver à chaque jour quand la réalité frôle la fiction et vice versa. La technique utilisée pour soutenir ce bon scénario a eu ses limites, les personnages sont bien campés par les comédiens sauf celui de Dennis Quaid. Le dénouement est captivant. Pour le plaisir d'aller au cinéma.

Excellent film captivant sur une histoire originale, mais dramatique. Le film montre qu'il n'est pas facile de trouver l'inspiration pour écrire un bon roman à succès. Quoi qu'il en soit, les événements d'une vie procurent parfois les bases pour un tel roman. Bien que tout le film est plus ou moins prévisible au départ, tout devient très clair à la fin.

Je suis sorti en choc. Ce film porte sur ses épaules toute la question de la réparation, du réel et de la fiction. On apprend aussi à connaître le monde de l'écrivain qui est très fascinant. Du Brian Klugman et du Lee Sternthal qui a de la gueule.
Obligatoire pour les amateurs de mots. Sujet pointu. Belle psychologie. La fin nous fait découvrir encore plus la profondeur inouïe de ce film, que l'on ne pouvait encore tout à fait mesurer.
Si j'étais écrivain, j'aurais voulu écrire une histoire comme ça. Rien d'autre à ajouter. Il faut aller le voir. Amateur d'action, ce n'est pas votre place.

Brian Klugman et Lee Sternthal n'ont pas produit un chef-d’œuvre, mais un très très grand film. Les rencontres humaines et la subtilité des "mots"... valent amplement le détour. S'abstenir si la psychologie ne vous intéresse pas.
Je suis stupéfait. Je comprends les notes basses puisque ce film est d'une nature autre que ce que l'on est habitué de voir sur nos écrans. Mais dès que j'ai vu l'acteur principal devant une pancarte d'Hemingway, j'ai su que ce film ne serait pas banal. Il ne l'est pas.
