GO see this movie now! Not only entertaining, tugging on your emotions high and low, it is also very informative, and makes you think differently than the normal stuff shoved into you head by media. Good for young and old, and even bridges some generation gaps. I mean it introduces older generations to Marilyn Manson not only a real human being, but also intelegent and caring. In contrast, Charlton Heston as a dumb monster. If I had my way, I'd make this film manditory for people 14 to 94..

This is the kind of film that makes you wanna pick up a camera and make ironic documentaries. While this is meant to entertain more than be serious journalism, it says something that this funny documentary is the closest thing most Canadians and Americans will come to critique and reflection over the fundamental assumptions that guide our everyday perceptions and lives in the rich, intolerant, and consumption-happy western world we call home. At the very least, if this film causes you to talk about something other than J-Lo's butt or The Bachelor for 5 minutes, its done its part.

After 9 weeks presentation, I didn't expect to see as many people in the movie theater. This cinematographic essay is surprisingly the second movie, that I've seen these past years, applaused by the audience at the end. Its praises are well-deserved for the brilliant, humouristic and sensitive touch. Michael Moore is a great interviewer!

This movie really makes you think... and re-think about the whole situation around the american concept. Some plain truth, some sad moments and a touch of humour if you can find it. An absolute must.

Fantastic movie - Moore gives us more of his biting style and asks the questions Americans dare not ask. This movie should be included in US school curriculum, because otherwise, this movie will sadly go unnoticed by the groups Moore desperately tries to awaken. Movie is summed-up in a nutshell by Marilyn Manson.

I have been following Michael Moore ever since he shocked me with Roger and Me. This film, although better than some of his work since, did not have the same impact on me, as it felt a little formulaic after his earlier work. It was still as brilliant as he ever was, and I will admit that I was so stunned after a couple of the montage sequences that I found myself weeping. The film never really answers the question of why do Americans kill Americans with guns, but it allows the audience to draw it's own conclusions. One heck of an acheivement.

Bowling for Columbine is THE best and most provocative documentary I've ever seen. It was hilarious, sad, and inspiring. We really can make a change in the world. Especially when it comes to Gun Control.

This movie deserves every cent I paid. I really enjoyed that a movie discuesses atleast one issue, of the many, that US has. I also thank the director for the Canadian Part, the Part about the US support to most US problems right now, Iraq, Iran and Terrorism.

Disturbing, funny, thought-provoking, and not your usual Hollywood flick. Don't go if you are not half intelligent. Style is like a home video by a sweaty fat guy, who somehow makes Charlton Heston look like the Devil for loving guns. Shows how sick America is, beats up on corporate icons, shows how to make a brilliant masterpiece without a big budget. I have never seen anything quite like it. It was as important to see as Schindler's List, except that it is a mind growing experience not a mind-shrink. Sometimes you laugh with embarrassment because you can't believe Americans deserve to be alive, sometimes the humor drills right into you, and sometimes it is just plain hillarious.

Very imformative and opinionated piece of documentary film-making. It starts off on a humourous note, and quickly becomes involving and serious. It's truly interesting and you leave the theatre thinking that you're life has somehow changed for the better, in learning.

Really good movie, I thought the South Park type toon was hilarious, although felt some gasps in back of me, curiosity got to me to check the NRA web site, they must have feared the movie because they only had a small paragraph on their site on the movie. Read some of Heston's propaganda speeches, he makes sense surprisingly and I came to one conclusion Americans want guns to protect themselves from each other because no one trusts anyone in power, the fear thing again, go see it. What an embarrassment for the USA, kind makes me proud to be Canadian!

Wonderful depiction of our Southern neighbours' mentality and way of life. Bowling for Columbine is able to relate tragedy in a satirical, sometimes humourous way, while still evoking a certain thought process and social critique at its end. A DEFINITE must!!!

I must admit that I went to this movie with some skepticism. Could a docudrama about America's preoccupation with guns be an enjoyable night at the movies? After two hours of being rivetted to the screen, the answer is a resounding YES. Bowling for Columbine was funny, compelling, sickening, informative and artistically ingenious. Don't wait to see it in video - hearing and feeling the reactions of the audience is a big part of the experience.

A fantastic movie. A great example of grassroots political action, whether you agree with the perspective being presented, or not. The reasons that this was the first documentary accepted at Cannes in decades are quite clear. Michael Moore demonstrates his sharp wit and ability to shock the viewer with sometimes hilarious and other times painful portrayals of what otherwise normal Americans are capable of doing and accepting. Guest "cameos", so to speak, are all insightful, also, watch for a synopsis of American history by the creators of South Park. An absolute must-see.

The obvious link between the KKK and the NRA was very enlightning. The second ammendment is so intiquated it's laughable. If the goverment knows who has the guns they will be tyranicle maniacs and do as they please... The NRA produces the nut jobs that suffer from extreme paranoya propogated by such lobby groups. Without coaching old Charlie Heston said it clearly: cause for all these murders... ETHNIC DIVERSITY! So to Mr. Mrs. Smith, get yourself a gun and protect the White way of life. It's the American thing to do.

Wow, finally an American making a movie about the true protrayals of one of the leading US downfalls! Not to bash Americans, but to make "some" realize where things are going these days. If a Canadian would have made this movie, we'd be at war right now! I also think the little cartoon in the movie sums it out really nice, in a blunt kind of way. I will see it again, I will send my parents, I will recomend it to my neighbors, and I will definitely buy it when I get the chance.

The best documentary or film that I have experienced in a very long time. It's pretty rare to see a movie that is both fresh in its outlook and poignant in its message but this documentary by Micheal Moore succeeds in both. Although I understand that his message was very one-sided, as is obvious by his attempt at demonstrating Canadians as "really nice people who don't lock their doors". Who keeps their doors unlocked? Not me. You know you have an interesting case when you can make Marylin Mason and South Park seem intelligent and enlightened and make George W. Bush and the average American as both oblivious to the core reasons why America is such a dangerous place. I take two messages from this movie: American violence is partly created by the fear and paranoia in private television news and shows that depict the neighbour or black man as the enemy. The other message is that of the "sink or swim" society in America, similar to darwanism where if one is powerful, you become more powerful and when you are weak, you get weaker. Such a society cannot last long though as we have evolved past this sink or swim mentalilty in most organized societies (and this includes Canada) A society may only be as strong as its weakest link and trust me, America has many. What brings violence to society? The fear of violence or violence itself? If you believe you are being attacked and you have a right to bear arms and attack would-be aggressors (sounds like the US foreign policy yet?), do you have the right to violently defend yourself, your family or your country? These are choices a society has made. I'm happy mine hasn't chosen that path. Although, we often follow the American way in world conflicts, we always appear to be forced into these situations by our more coercive neighbours. We often try to find more peaceful (and often less costly, both in human lives and in dollars) ways to bring conflicts to an end. Perhaps, this is a legacy of our forefathers, the creators of the constitution who chose compromise over civil war and violence. The American constitution was written after a bloody war. A mandatory viewing of this movie to all Canadians would also reduce Canada's brain drain to the US in half. Viewers beware. Should I mention Micheal Moore is an American with an NRA membership?

I thought the film was very good. I spent the movie oscillating between horror / sadness and laughter. The humour was great and the tragic stories hit home. I did find it a little tedious at times, a little redundant... and the depiction of Canada was rather naive. Still - go see it, it's a great film.
