When [...] Michael Moore insults the way of life he lives in, insulting the men and women who fight for the right for this idiot to make movies that he does. I would like to see him making a movie such as this one in a country like Irak.

Shame on Bush? That's crap. Shame on Michael Moore and shame on all those who support his anti-Bush proclamations. As Canadians we should get down on our knees day after day and thank Bush for saving our ass in the face of war. WHat do you think will happen if Canada keeps behaving so anti-America? Let's stop this Canadian epidemic of anti-Americanism before it becomes a real problem. I would not advise going near this film as a lesson to Michael Moore- don't run off your mouth in the company of those much more intelligent thank you.

Profound. It's all right in front of you, but you don't realize it until you see the movie. Thank God for being in Canada, but the American mindset is growing ever present in Canada as we lose soveriegnty and independence daily. The "Culture of Fear" is seeping in, how can we stop it?

Excellent documentary, the other hidden side of the glorious United States & how they build hatred against them through their foreign policy. They are heading for their downfall as a repected superpower. It makes us also appreciate the real wonderful country that embrasses many nationalities. We love & appreciate Canada.

Wanna know what America is all about? This documentary is the answer... it's good to know there are still some people out there to tell the truth, even if it hurts! Excellent work and perspective!

Congrat's on the Oscar, Mike. Well deserved. This is a brilliant film. I don't always agree with Moore's politics but all of his work has been thought provoking and, at times, made me question some of my own values.

I was very, very impressed by this film. It was well made and well written, and very thought provoking. As a Michigan native living in Montreal, the things that he shows of in this documentary in suburban Michigan in GENERAL are tragically realistic, although I was dissapointed that he did not show the other aspect of people living in Michigan and in the U. S. - there are plenty of people like myself that believe in gun control, do not have an obsession with protecting themselves from the world, and have never and would never own a gun in their lifetime. However, this film was very good and very thought provoking. I also appreciated how it presented the opinions of everyone from Charleton Heston to Marlyn Manson to survivors of the Columbine School shooting to John Nicols and so forth. I wish that every American had the opportunity to see this film like I have.

I saw this film in Ireland myself, it was rather entertaining yet at the same time, one can't help but shiver at the thought of their being every day Americans teaching their children to be so paranoid and hot headed with weapons. As for its depiction of Canada... well, I guess we should take it as a compliment. ;-)

What a thought provoker. It's too bad this movie is not shown in all theaters. It would be great if it could get more visibility... it would make people more sensitive and aware of gun control issues.

A masterpiece of thought-provoking material. How unfortunate to live in the States and not realize the truth about your society. I agree, this should be a must see for many republican, rightist and conservative sections of society in USA - are there any others left? Going to war is must with this mindset. The only thing is - there is too much great material in this movie, sadly.

Great movie... makes us realize that the all powerful US is indeed heading for a decline if they do not change their ideas on humanity. A must see for mr. Bush and Dick Clark and Charleton Heston. See how their ignorant ways are somewhat contributing to the downfall of the Us... Long live the true north, strong and free... God keep our land glorious and free.

I like a documentary that wears its bias right on its sleave for all to see. At the risk of repeating what others have so eloquently written, this movie is as much about the intricacies of the social malaise gripping US society as it is about guns. Michael Moore did an inspiring job with the script and the animation was even shown as-is on Oprah!

This movie is a cinematic masterpiece. Deffinatlel one of the best I have seen. Although it raises many good points I think the viewers need to be wary and draw their own conclusions about the issues raised. I am not saying Moore is wrong, I am also not going to say he is right but I think people should be careful in what they believe. Remember every story has two sides.

Let's be honest here people: this is a propagadistic movie. But I confess: it's my kind of propaganda. Yes, some of the "facts" were a touch sloppy - statistics not adjusted per capita, etc. I've also heard people say that the interview with Mr. Heston was below the belt due to his mental strength and health. I agree with those who have commented that the overvew of Canada was embarrassingly warm and fuzzy. However, bearing all of these points in mind, I found this to be an intelligent, revealing, vindicating film, and I'm glad that Mr. Moore has made it. Chilling interviews do illustrate - in the extreme - a severe societal sickness, and I was also glad to see Mr. Moore searching for intelligent and creative explanations. Take some points and leave some, but certainly do go and see this film. My greatest fear is that it risks being more succesful in Canada than south of the border!

This movie is by --no-- means an anti-firearm movie. It depicts the societal problems in the U. S. and how the media "picks-&-chooses" what it will "show" the masses and how human nature reacts to perceived iminent threats. The media's decisions are strictly based on marketability/profitability of any/all stories presented. Let's face it, unfortunately --misery-sells-- and the media exploits that fact. Thereby leaving the masses paranoid & frightened!! A MUST SEE FOR ANY ANTI-FIREARMS MINDSET FOLK!! A MUST SEE FOR ANY FIREARM OWNERS!!

** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ** - Bowling for columbine is an important message to north-American and other people around the world, I personnally thought this was at the same time a great movie but also a message to warn us about threats and consequences about the possession of a gun and the possibility of a war with U. S. I also think this movie was a success because it delivers us a sad message and at the same time it's the reality..

An excellent movie that at times had me shaking with laughter and at others, just shaking my head in disbelief. I certainly learned a few new facts and some interesting theories about American culture. My only criticisms would be his skewed and idealized portrayal of Canadians and, I felt he may have gone a bit too far with Charlton Heston. Heston seemed like a sitting duck but on the other hand, he was unable to give any intelligent defense to his views. Surprisingly, the most articulate and thoughtful debate came from Marilyn Manson. I found myself agreeing with a number of his statements. Go figure. Without a doubt, this is one of the most entertaining and informative films I've seen.

This is one of the most incredible pieces of work I've ever seen. I agree with every aspect in it. Although it doesn't neccessarily make me proud to be a Canadian. There is still a lot of violence and hate in Canada, maybe not as much, but it is still there. Also I see people insulting Americans for being too patriotic but then I turn around and see just as many Canadians saying the same thing about Canada, that they are proud and should feel so special for being a Canadian. Well until this country is perfect, has no crime, no hate and no murders, why should we be proud? We aren't any better than them. Yes we do have a gun law and I strongly agree with that, but violence does still exist here, I'm not backing up the Americans and saying that how there society is right, I'm simply saying that until this country is "perfect" and has no crime or hate or violence, we shouldn't be judging other countries, especially since the president is the one who makes the laws, and many Americans don't have a say in the gun law situation.
