I felt that this movie could have been better- I mean by the plot. It was a very realistic movie and all but it was too predictable. Its only worth seeing once! The acting and directing was great also but the genre shouldn't have been Romance-Comedy but instead only comedy because there were very few romance scences. The jokes weren't even that good, they were worn out. But I thought that the only good joke was when Melanie (Reese W.) is in the closet with the reporter and he tells him that it used to be part of the Underground Railway. But overall, I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone...

Slow movie good chick flick well made but not enough comedy to become appealing to most guys.

Her movies are usualy fun and this one was no exception. It was good for one wathing but I would not go to this movie more then once. And if you only have money for 1 romantic comedy month save it for My Fat Greek Wedding you will enjoy it more.

I went to see this movie with good expectations, as all of Reece Witherspoons previous movies have been enjoyable. It was a little more then I expected and the ending was delightfully surprising and it was a feel good movie indefinitely. Nice little romantic movie but not overly sickingly corny like most are these days. I think most people will enjoy it.

Dakota was excellent. Reese's accent and tone of voice were hard to take at times. Predictable ending, especially with the trailers practically spelling it out.

This was such a great movie, it was different than the average romantic comedy. Really cute movie. Reese Whiterspoon played her role really well. Try to convince your boyfriend/husband to see it!

Very mediocre. I've seen my fair share of romantic comedies, and this one has to fit somewhere around the bottom middle. Why? It just wasn't that funny. The only funny scenes were those with Candice Bergen; she's a star; I'll see anything with her in it. She saved this movie from getting a 5, even though she wasn't in it very much. Aside from that, Sweet Home Alabama was an hour and fifteen minutes of boredom followed by a comparatively funny, sweet, yet predictable final half hour. Reese Witherspoon was born for this role, but she didn't save the movie. Her character was such an unlikable snob that I wanted bad things to happen to her; I didn't want her to have a happy ending. I would have loved it if she ended up with no guys. Who the hell would want to marry a stuck-up little prissy pants who is so ashamed of her roots that she wouldn't even call her own parents in 7 years? The scene in the bar is a prime example. How anyone could watch that and still root for her is a mystery. If you want to see the best Reese Witherspoon movie, rent Freeway, starring her and Kiefer Sutherland, in a modern day retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. That is good stuff. And as for romantic comedies, see My Big Fat Greek Wedding. If you've already seen it, see it again. It's that much better. One final rant: they don't even use the original Lynyrd Skynyrd version of the song Sweet Home Alabama, instead we get two other crummy versions, one by Jewel (?)

I think those movies are detrimental for society. Better to see the world as is and not according to those cliches... Another movie build with the sex appeal of the actors and no other purpose than providing your brain 2 hours vacation.

This is a decent enough romantic comedy. Nothing particularly special about it, but still provides a couple hours of light entertainment. Reese W. Pulls off the lead role quite well. I would recommend if you are in the mood for something light or for a date movie.

There are some films that are predictable but you can enjoy them anyway, this isnt one of them. It has a great cast and a few laughs, but over all this film is disappointing, as it is full of cheezy moments and characters that are total clichés, this one is not worth your time. For a great date movie I recommend My Big Fat Greek Wedding, its worth every penny!

I loved this "chick-flick" so much that I am seeing it again tomorrow night with 5 girlfriends from work! My husband is from New York City and I am from Tennessee. Though I have never lived in a "double wide, took a baby into a bar, or waved a rebel flag around while singing the "Alabama National Anthem" I know people who have! :-) I found this movie to be a nice break from some of the garbage out now.

VERY cute movie--Reese is charming and Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas are totally HOT! I'm gonna buy the soundtrack and I'll buy the DVD when it comes out! Romance isn't dead, just not feeling toooooooo well. :-)

I have seen similar movies and nothing unique about this film. Anyway if you do not have any thing to you might want to see it. It is fun and I would rather see it at home not in a theatre.

Excellent!!!.. However not as good as the film: Tears of Tyranny, which I found was the best movie of the year... In case you dont know it was directed by Simon Gagnon and is playing at Cinema Du Parc...

It's one of those kind of movies where the ending is predictable but nevertheless, you still leave with a smile because that's exactly what you wanted to begin with. The actors were great, the imagery just as well and the story line was funny, creative and typical of most romatinc movies. But what sets it apart is the fact that it played mind games always changing your mind of what may be the outcome. Anyway, go see it, it will be worth your money and time!

It was a awesome movie. It is very romantic. Sweet Home Alabama is the kind of movie that makes you want to cry. It also makes you think twice about love.

Would you in your right mind dump a gorgeous, incredibly charming guy for a "true love" who puked during your wedding, and still seems to have an alcohol problem? One minute you are a sophisticated city girl with your own ambitions, the next - you are home to Alabama. Unconvincing.

I thought it was a good movie. It almost makes me wanna go out to the country, but too bad Reese isn't out there. My girlfriend, on the other hand, was dying when she saw Patrick Dempsey's blue eyes! She loved it! She came out of the theatre talking with an Alabama accent!
