Beautifully made, reality based, excellent music and its connection to the movie and its feeling at each scene, and a very meaningful and deep content.

Excellent movie. It seems that Germans are making masterpieces left and right after a hiatus of a few years.

The acting was so so, the story left much to be desired. The whole movie was way too heavy and depressing for its content especially the ending. It didn't make much sense to me like most of the movie.

Cry me a river, blah blah they all have so many problems, poor things. The movie tries so hard with such a convuluted storyline that it ends up being laughable. Not gripping, you don't feel for the characters as they seem to just pile on one more catastrophic life event on another. They lost me when they had a pseudo-romantic scene between the 21 yr-old musical genius and her 80 yr-old closet lesbian. If you like over the top drama, go see it. If you want subtle emotion with true feeling, skip this.

It's a special movie that all I can say. If you like piano, if you like international movies, don't miss it!

I don't want to pan this movie as it has elements that are quite griping. Nevertheless it seems all the characters have major flaws and enough baggage to be sink the Bismark... Everyone seems to be lost... even the ending was far from uplifting... maybe I'm to romantic but I found it much to long and not so entertaining:)

Excellent intertwining of two gripping stories, that of the young prodigy wrongly jailed, victim of incest, and that of the piano teacher with the wounded heart. It raises several issues around justice, what jail does to inmates and workers, also WW II. The relationship between the 2 women is difficult, harsh as well as movingly beautiful in what they accomplish for each other.

Amazing and emotional, such a great story and first class acting, last 4 minutes are just a hymn to human genius and a testimony to klavier musik. Das ist deine ausgabe, Jenny.
