Jonathan Pryce is great as a bumbling idiot who is just trying to do the right thing and is thwarted at every turn. Katherine Helmond is fantastic (and surreal) as his overbearing mother, and the movie is a pure visual extravaganza. Watch for a cameo from Robert De Niro that almost steals the show, and some vicious satire on the process of government and business. A brilliant movie that was almost never made (reading the story behind the production is almost as entertaining as the movie itself!!), from a true genius (Terry Gilliam) at the top of his game.
